Lazareto Industrial Park is located near Porto Grande Bay, in the island of S. Vicente, along the road connecting the town of Mindelo to S. Pedro Airport.

The island S. Vicente

The island S. Vicente, occupies the 7th place in area, among the islands of Cape Verde, but it is 2nd island in terms of population. Its main urban settlement is the town of Mindelo, which has developed around the bay of Porto Grande, and is an important commercial centre and the biggest centre of industrial activity in the Country.

Development of Mindelo began in the middle of the 19th century, when several English companies installed premises in the island, profiting the excellent location of Porto Grande, between Europe, the Americas and Africa, for providing services to the shipping companies operating between those continents: ship repair, supply of fuel and provisions, telecommunications and agency.

The tradition of industrial activity in the island comes from those english companies, and S. Vicente is the island of Cape Verde where it is easier to find skilled workers.
